CALL TO WORSHIP (Tune: “Brethren We Have Met To Worship” – p. 15)
Glory, glory, I'm forgiven; All my sins are washed away. Christ, by His great blood atonement, All my sin has put away. Sin imputed to my Savior, When He died upon the tree As the Substitute for sinners, God will not impute to me.
Glory, glory, I'm accepted, Robed in Christ own righteousness; I'm a child, an heir of heaven, Saved by God's almighty grace. Christ's obedience to the Father Is imputed now to me; In God's sight I'm pure and holy, He declares me so to be.
Glory, glory, I'll not perish, In Christ's hands I am secure; He who saved me, sure, will keep me; By God's grace I shall endure. This is not a vain presumption; I just take Him at His word; Christ has sworn, "They shall not perish Who believe on Me their Lord."

How little do we understand of the inexplicable wonders of a wonder
working God, whose thoughts are a great deep, and whose ways are past
finding out. But to God, nothing is mysterious. In His purpose, nothing is
unfixed. In His forethought, nothing is unknown. In His providence,
nothing is contingent. His glance pierces the future as vividly as it beholds
the past. He knows the end from the beginning.

“But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have
desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to
hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.” (Matthew
13:16-17) Let us never take for granted the great truth that if we truly
“see” and “hear,” with spiritual eyes and ears, the Gospel of God’s free
and sovereign grace in the Lord Jesus Christ, and savingly know the value
both of His glorious Person and finished work of righteousness, we are
truly “blessed” of God. The sight and sound of the Gospel by which we
view and hear the glory and beauty of Jesus Christ, which evidences itself
by faith in Him and repentance of sin, set us apart from the world. Why is
the preaching of the cross the wisdom and power of God to us and not
foolishness as it is to the world (1 Cor. 1:18-24)? Why is the message of
God’s grace in the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ our very life
and not just another religion as it is to the world? Why do we listen
intently to hear of Christ’s righteousness freely imputed for our
justification when the world sees no value or need of it at all? Is it because
we are better, smarter, more humble, sincere, and concerned than others
who stubbornly continue in unbelief and unconcern? If it is, then let’s stop
talking about salvation by grace. But if we truly have “eyes” to see and
“ears” to hear, we know it is solely the gift of God’s grace in Jesus Christ
and not because we were or are any better than unbelievers. By nature we
were and are no different than the world under the depravity of sin and
unbelief. Who made us to differ? It is God alone so that we have no room
to boast in ourselves – “He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord” (1
