Lordship Salvation Part 3

Here are six quotes from Lordship Salvationists and Roman Catholics. They are given to show you that they believe the same way. The rising of Calvinist doctrine is helping to pave the way for the one world harlot church (Rev 17:5) to get together.

1.) "Let us not then take refuge in our sloth or encouragement in our lust from the abused doctrine of the security of the believer. But let us appreciate the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints and recognize that we may entertain the faith of our security in Christ only as we persevere in faith and holiness to the end."

2.) "Endurance in faith is a condition for future salvation. Only those who endure in faith will be saved for eternity."

3.) “The Scriptures repeatedly exhort us to persevere, to ‘hang in there.’ It is only the one who endures to the end who will be saved."

4.) "Believing in Jesus Christ and in the One who sent him for our salvation is necessary for obtaining that salvation…. therefore without faith no one has ever attained justification, nor will anyone obtain eternal life 'but he who endures to the end.'

5.) "There is a deadly and damnable heresy being widely propagated today to the effect that, if a sinner truly accepts Christ as his personal Saviour, no matter how he lives afterwards, he cannot perish. That is a satanic lie, for it is at direct variance with the teaching of the Word of truth. Something more than believing in Christ is necessary to ensure the soul's reaching heaven."

6.) "We cannot ‘earn’ our salvation through good works, but our faith in Christ puts us in a special grace-filled relationship with God so that our obedience and love, combined with our faith, will be rewarded with eternal life."

Now look at who quoted them.

1.) John Murray (Lordship Salvationist) Redemption – Accomplished and Applied, 155
2.) R.C. Sproul (Lordship Salvationist) Grace Unknown, 198
3.) Joseph Kindel (Roman Catholic) What Must I Do To Be Saved?, 79
4.) (Roman Catholic) Catechism of the Catholic Church, article #161
5.) A.W. Pink (Lordship Salvationist) as quoted by Iain H. Murray in The Life of Arthur W. Pink, 248-249
6.) (Roman Catholic) Pillar of Fire, Pillar of Truth, 23

The differences between the teachings of Roman Catholicism and those of the Lordship Salvationists are almost indistinguishable.

Believers are to have good works (Acts 26:20) but works do not play a part in Church Age Salvation (Rom 4:5, Eph 2:8-9). The Bible doesn't contradict. The Lordship Salvationists, like the Roman Catholics stumble over the book of James causing them to teach heresy. Their belief in replacement theology also blinds their eyes to rightly dividing the word of truth, so they continue to make verses that apply doctrinally to another group (Israel or Gentiles) or another time period (tribulation) to the Church. Doing this always causes confusion and false doctrine.

The book of James is addressed to Jews. James 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. Are you from one of the twelve tribes? The Jehovah's Witnesses forget that they are not of the twelve tribes (Rev 7:4) when they teach that they are the 144,000. Yes the Church can get much practical and doctrinal application from this epistle but if you don't look at the address on the front you will cause the Bible to contradict and fall into the same ditch as the Catholics and Calvinists, etc. If the Bible contains contradictions it can't be the word of God. The Lord wrote a Book that would fit all groups throughout the ages (Eph 2:7,11,13) not just a Church Age period that will last around 2000 years. If you try to lump doctrine togetherfor a different time period that isn't the same as our Church Age doctrine, you will teach heresy like unto the Lordship Salvationists.

Take James chapter 2 for example compared with a verse for the Church Age the apostle Paul wrote under the inspiritation of the Holy Spirit. James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Acts 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Now James is teaching something different than Paul. The difference is in the dispensations. When the church is called out (1 Thess 4:16-18, 1 Cor 15:50-55) God will begin again to deal with Israel (Rom 11:1) much in the same way that He did in the Old Testament. The sealing of the Holy Spirt will be gone with the catching away of the bride of Christ and endurance to "the end" will be in effect. The Lord will literally be coming within a few years ( Heb 10:37, James 5:3,7,8,11,17, 1 Pt 1:5,13,20, 2 Pt 3:31 Jn 2:18, Jude 18,etc) and those who reject the mark of the beast will either be martyred and go to heaven or those who do not take the mark will have to endure (Matt 24:13). Loss of salvation will be possible after the Church is caught out so the endurance doctrine will apply then.

A Christian in the Church Age can be unfruitful (Titus 3:14) but when they are feeding their new nature and growing in grace they will have the "fruit of the Spirit" and live a life close to the Lord. The other side of Lordship Salvaion connects works to the believers salvation when God's word says it IS NOT OF WORKS (Eph 2:8-9).

If you have trusted what The Lord Jesus Christ did for you on the cross of calvary to save you, rest in that. You will serve Him better knowing that if you fall He will catch you, than you will if you think He loves you one minute then if you make a mistake He will cut you out of His body (1 Cor 12:27).

Have a good day and God bless.
