CALL TO WORSHIP (Tune: “O Worship the King” – p. 1)
We gather this day to honor the King, Who sits on His throne, His triumphs we sing; The Savior who died to atone for our sin, Came forth from the tomb and He liveth again.
Christ Jesus our Lord the battle has won, He died and arose, the work is all done! He took on Himself all our debt to repay, The sins of His people are all washed away.
To Jesus our Lord all honors we bring, And say unto death, "O where is thy sting?" Enthroned in His glory, almighty to save, King Jesus has triumphed o’er sin and the grave.
He rose from the tomb and reigns high above, All praise to His Name, all power and love; Made righteous in Jesus we someday shall rise, To dwell with our Savior above earth and skies.

OBEDIENCE, CHARITY, SINCERITY, ZEAL, AND DEDICATION
The obedience, charity, sincerity, zeal, and dedication of true children of God for all that honors the Lord, promotes love for brethren and our neighbors, and which testifies of the power of God’s grace in our lives is so very, very important. We cannot ignore or consider these things lightly, and we most certainly cannot be found of among those who promote the opposite. But the one thing we want others to know – No amount or degree of obedience, charity, sincerity, zeal, and dedication can save us or make us righteous and holy before God. That is the work of Jesus Christ alone and is freely imputed to us by God. It based on the obedience, charity, sincerity, zeal, and dedication of Jesus Christ when He, as our Surety and substitute, accomplished redemption for us by His death on the cross. All acceptable obedience, charity, sincerity, zeal, and dedication of true children of God come from Jesus Christ and are a testimony to the power and glory of God’s grace in and by Him. – Pastor Bill Parker

"They that trust in the LORD" can never be removed from His heart’s love, nor out of the covenant of His grace, which is sure and everlasting; nor out of His family, into which they are taken. They can never be removed from the Lord Jesus Christ, nor out of His hands and arms, nor from off His heart, nor from off Him as the foundation on which they are laid. They can never be removed out of the state of grace of regeneration and justification. These abide in the love of God, in the covenant of His grace, in the hands of His Son, in the grace wherein they stand, and in the house of God for evermore. – John Gill

A god that you can comprehend completely and understand fully is your equal. Such a god would be a fool and only a fool would trust him. “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” (Ro 11:33) -- Pastor Gary Shepard
There is no doubt that God’s Word reveals how the natural sinfulness and depravity of man reaches even to his very heart – his mind, affections, and will. The following verses are just a few examples in the Bible –Gen. 6:5; 8:21; Job 15:14-16; Psalm 53:1-3; Eccl. 7:20; 9:3; Matt. 15:19; Rom. 3:23. For this reason we know that if left to ourselves, we as fallen men and women would never choose of our own will to believe and serve God as He reveals Himself through Jesus Christ the Lord. The Lord Himself said this – “No man can come to Me, except the Father which hath sent Me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:44). We as sinful people cannot choose this truth in Christ because we by nature WILL not. By nature we do not desire the things that glorify God in Jesus Christ. For this reason it is stated, “There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one” (Rom. 3:11-12). The Lord also said, “All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37). How do sinful people who have no natural desire to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ come to Him? It is the work of God the Holy Spirit in giving us a new heart with new desires towards God in Christ (Jer. 31:31-34; Ezek. 36:26-27; John 3:3-7). The questions for each of us to consider is this – Do I know, in light of God’s holiness, something of my own sinfulness and depravity, the impossibility of salvation based on my best efforts to obey? Do I have a desire, even a need, to run to Jesus Christ as my only way of salvation, to plead His blood and righteousness alone as my hope and ground of being saved, accepted, and blessed of God? Am I like the publican of old who cried, “God be merciful [propitious] to me a sinner” (Luke 18:13)? If this is your state and desire, then there is no doubt that you will choose Christ and God’s way of salvation in Him, and you will know that it is all of God’s power and grace, not only in your justification, but also in your spiritual birth. Why is this God’s way; why is it necessary? The answer is – “that no flesh should glory in his presence” (1 Cor. 1:29). God’s way of salvation leaves the sinner saved by grace no room to glory in himself, not even in his own choice. It leaves us to glory only in Jesus Christ and His righteousness. – Pastor Bill Parker
