Here are some things for which I am grateful over the past couple of months; Graceunlimited Live Concert
We held another Graceunlimited Live evangelistic concert at the beginning of March. Attendance wasn't quite as enthusiastic as the first event. We nevertheless sang and preached from the heart, trusting God to transform our hearers by His grace. We are thankful to Nimbati Lodge in Benoni for hosting us without charge.
Baptisms at Living Hope
We were thrilled to have held another baptism at Living Hope Church. Rejoice with us as we continue to see Christ building His church through church members sharing the Gospel with others regularly, and the preaching of the Gospel. God has blessed us with a community of believers who function as a family.
Dating and Romance Conference
In March, Living Hope Church also hosted a Dating and Romance conference at Lynnwood Baptist in Pretoria. We have seen such a need in this area. We had almost 60 single people in attendance, and Josh Mack and Donovan Drew did an excellent job at presenting a very encouraging view of singleness from Scripture, and some very helpful practical scriptural guidelines for God-honouring relationships with the opposite gender. I also had the privilege of sharing a short testimony. Recordings are available on my website www.graceunlimited.co.za.
Possible Venue for Living Hope Church
How earnestly Living Hope Church has hunted for a permanent place to meet over the past 5 years. We have now submitted a proposition to the owners of a building in Pretoria city. The place is actually a complex that is very big (400 seater hall and 60 offices), and is very expensive, but it is the only option that has come up. Please pray that the Lord would grant us this wonderful facility for a varied ministry in the inner city.
Fellowship and Service in Port Elizabeth, the Camp, the Train Trip
I started writing this note while I was in Port Elizabeth for ministry for the month of April. I stood in for Neil Anderson at Grace Bible Church while he and his wife Nicole took a break. At the end of the month, I was also afforded the privilege of speaking at their church camp at Cape St Francis. My daughters and I traveled by train; a first for us, and have returned home haunted by wonderful fellowship and new relationships with the believers we have left behind.
A Piano for Hope
We are also very grateful for the gift of a piano for Hope. She is doing well with her piano lessons. We have been saving up for an instrument for her, but the Lord has graciously provided for this need through a kind lady who lives in the area where we live. Now we just have to work out how to move it :-)
My Father's 70th Birthday and 49th Wedding Anniversary
April has also seen my dear father's 70th birthday. I am so grateful for him and appreciate the depth of spiritual maturity with which he constantly influences me. I praise the Lord for this influence, which has been a significant driver in my own direction and ministry. Also, on 14 May, my mom and dad enjoy their 49th wedding anniversary.
Financial Support
My dear friends, knowing how difficult it has become for everyone to make ends meet, I want you to know how grateful I am for your kindness and generosity in sacrificing to meet our little family's needs. Thank you so much! We receive your gifts as from the hand of the Lord. In prayer, please thank the Lord for His provision and request His continued kindness to us.
Some Prayer Needs
Pray for a ministry that is generated from a heart that is passionate about Christ
Pray about our 2 vehicles that are feeling their age. Their combined mileage is 850 000km.
Hope's home schooling
200 copies of my book, Hurting in Hope, still stuck in the mail since August last year.
If you are still reading, thank you! That is very kind!
The Lord bless you in your life and ministry!
With love and joy in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ,
Alan
