Proverbs 15:28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
Notice that the righteous studies. We study God's words so we can have an answer that is from Him not from our wicked heart (Jer 17:9). Some say, "my heart isn't wicked," and that just shows that it is ( Rom 3:10, 1 Jn 1:8).You need to study to prepare your heart then you can have an answer from Him and not from your own heart, Proverbs 16:1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD. We also study God's words because it is a command 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. We're living in a time where the average christian knows about enough Bible to write what they know about it on the front of a sticky note. Why is this?
One good reason is the devil knows this verse it true, Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee. The truth is people aren't studying the words of God today and the lack of knowledge of God is destroying them. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Most people today are fools according to this verse. How does the devil get people to stop studying God's words? One way he does it is simply by doing what he does best, which is to imitate God by counterfeiting His words and taking out the command to study. Now who would want you to stop studying the words of God? Look at the only other place in the Bible where there is a command to study, 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God. 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who doesn’t need to be ashamed, correctly teaching the word of truth. See for yourself the command to study is gone. This is terrible and I can't believe that people aren't upset over what is happening to the precious words of God. Do christians not get stirred up today ( Acts 17:16)? If the perversion of God's words wont do it I don't know what will. If this doesn't upset you and drive you to prayer then I reccomend a good dose of exposure to a hammer (Jer 23:29) to your hard heart. Those who are stealing the Lord's words (Jer 23:30) are many and there are lost souls who need the fire of God's words (Jer 23:29) before going to hellfire. So lets keep studying so we can obey this verse 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
