A CONFESSION FROM THE HEART The following is my personal confession of faith. It expresses my convictions of what I am convinced the Bible teaches.
I believe and I teach that ALL MEN by nature are lost in Adamâs fall (Romans 3:23, & 5:12). I hold that men have so gone astray that THEY NEITHER WILL NOR CAN COME TO CHRIST EXCEPT THE FATHER DRAW THEM (John 5:40 & 6:44). I believe that GOD, before the world began, CHOSE to Himself a people whom no man can number; for whom the Savior died (Ephesians 1:3, Revelation 5:9 & 7:9), to whom the Holy Spirit is given, and who will without fail be saved. You may disagree with these teachings but search if the Bible does not systematically teach them. See if it does not declare that we are âelect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father,â and irresistibly brought to Christ by the Holy Spiritâs power. I believe that EVERY ELECT CHILD OF GOD must assuredly be brought by converting grace from the ruins of the fall and MUST ASSUREDLY BE âKEPT BY THE POWER OF GOD, through faith, unto salvation,â beyond the hazard of ever totally falling away (I Peter 1:5, Jude 24, & John 6:37-40). If that is contrary to your thinking get your Bibles and refute me in your own houses. I hold it to be a fact that EVERY MAN WHO IS CONVERTED WILL LEAD A HOLY LIFE, and yet at the same time will put no dependence on his holy life, but will trust only in the blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ (Titus 2:11-14). I hold that every person that believes is duty bound TO BE IMMERSED. I hold that the sprinkling of infants to be a lie and a heresy, but I claim for that great ordinance of Christ (Believerâs Baptism), that it should have the examination of scripture. I hold that none but believers should be baptized. If I am wrong, do not believe me, but if I am right obey the Word of God with reverence (Acts 2:38 & 8:36-39). I will hold no error even upon a point which some men think to be unimportant; for a grain of truth is a diamond and a grain of error may be of serious consequence to us, and to the injury of the soul (I Timothy 4:16). Therefore I maintain a scriptural conviction that none but baptized IMMERSED believers have any right to the Lordâs Supper, and that it is in error to give the Lordâs Supper indiscriminately to all. I further maintain that none but Christians have a right either to the doctrines, the benefits, or the ordinances of Godâs house. Dear Readers, my burden is for the eternal welfare of the souls in the community God has placed me to serve for almost forty-five years. My objective has been and continues to be without compromise to declare the Truth, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth of Godâs Word. You have Bibles; be diligent and run these references (Acts 17:10-11).
