LESSON OUTLINE, ISAIAH'S CALL ISAIAH 6:1-12
I. ISAIAH the prophet:
Greatest of all Hebrew prophets/writers. The evangelical prophet. Described in detail the life of Jesus 700 years before He came. prophesies for 4 kings in Judah/Jerusalem. Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah End of First one, Uzziah, his call. 740 BC, Isaiah: Yesha-Yahu, Yesha-Jah, The Lord is salvation. Yeshua-Jah Yet failed to win Israel back to God. As God himself did. As Jesus did when he was here... II. The Kings and the Kingdom:
UZZIAH . 16 yrs old took kingdom from his dad , AmaziahAmaziah had turned away from God and worshiped false gods. Believed he had a right to do what he wanted because he was king of Judah! Picked a fight with Israel and lost. God will not protect a kingdom that turns its back on Him.Uzziah Had reigned 52 years. Sought the Lord, prospered. Fought God's enemies. But like his dad, got strong and forgot God. Proud. Tries to do priests work. Enters the Temple. Told by priests to get out, he gets angry, leprosy breaks out on his forehead. He got out. Leper till his death, son had to be co-regent.
