What Are The Service Times?
Sunday School begins at 9:45 AM with an assembly in the sanctuary, followed by respective classes. Pastor Walker teaches the adult class.
Sunday Morning Worship is at 11:00 AM Congregational singing, along with other special music is usually part of the morning service before a Bible based message by Pastor Walker.
Sunday Evening Service begins at 5:00 PM and includes inspirational singing, special music and a relevant biblical message.
Wednesday Night Service starts at 7:00 PM. We meet for prayer and Bible study. Kids (10 and under) meet for class as well.
What Do You Have For Kids?
Nursery is available for all services (up to three years old). Our nursery is clean, safe, and staffed by caring people. Mothers will be given a pager so they can easily be contacted if there is a need.
Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. and is an excellent place for kids to learn the Bible. Our teachers use a curriculum that is Bible based and relevant for each age group.
Kings Kids meet each Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. This program helps develop godly character using biblical principals and practical application. Here, kids participate in projects, games, and verse memorization, while learning exciting Bible lessons.
YOUTH meet for Sunday school each week as well as various activities and ministries each month. Youth Summer Camp (ages 10 and up) is a highlight of our year as well as the year end Youth Revival. We emphasize fellowship with Jesus Christ to strengthen the spiritual walk of our young people.
What Are The Services Like?
Our services follow a more conservative, traditional format. Hymns are sung out of the hymnbook and the King James Bible is the only textbook for our faith. Occasional “Amens” are heard during both the singing and the preaching, and the spirit is one of liberty, not legalism. We do not pressure anyone to give a certain amount, dress a certain way, or be someone they are not.
What Kind Of Church Is Calvary?
We are a Baptist Church, which means we hold to the basic Baptist doctrine. We are not charismatic. We do not practice speaking in tongues, faith healing, or believe in extra biblical revelation through visions or dreams.
We are a Bible Believing Baptist Church which means we believe the scriptures are without error and that God has preserved a copy for us that is inspired and infallible. We believe these “holy scriptures” have been preserved in the English Authorized King James Version. See the article by Pastor Walker concerning this subject: Which Version of the Bible should Christians use?
We are an Independent Baptist Church which means we are not affiliated or controlled by any denominational head or church hierarchy. We choose, as a church body, which missionaries we will support as well as our church leadership. Currently, there are over 10,000 independent Baptist churches across America.
