Webcast: “Abraham: The First War”
Scripture: Genesis 14: 1-17, 21-24 This evening we continue our series on Abraham . Our text, Genesis 14, is a narrative of the first war recorded in Scripture. And Abraham, God’s man, the great “father of believers,” enters the fray! What does this mean for us? How is the gospel revealed in this battle, and in the victory God gave to Abraham and his 318 trained servants? What are lessons Lot should have learned from this, and which we should learn, about the dangers and consequences of the faithless pitching of our tents toward Sodom, and then of our choosing to fraternize with sodomites and their ilk, rather than with God’s people? Let us hear God’s Word: for glad gospel godliness in a godless age!
