When you know someone is coming to your house, if time permits you will begin doing things around the home to make ready for your company. Maybe they are coming for a short visit or a longer stay, but there would be things you would do to ready yourself for their coming.

When we know in advance that someone is coming to our house, my wife will start telling me what we will need to do to make sure everything is in order to her liking. Now that the boys are grown and gone, when we know that they are coming home, we do things to make sure that their stay will be enjoyable for them. We want them to "feel at home" but we know that there is no place like home.

We know in advance that Jesus is coming, we just don't know when He is coming. His coming will not take us by surprise but His timing will. His INSTRUCTION is, "Be ye also ready." Why? Because of His IMMINENT return. He could come at any moment of any day. The INDIVIDUAL coming to our house is Jesus!

Wow! If you are saved, Jesus is coming to get you and carry you to His house. Are you ready for Him? His house is ready for us, shouldn't our house be ready for Him?

Are you saved? Is there unforgiveness in your heart? Is there anything that would make Him uncomfortable if he were to come today? Is there some music or movies or manners that would need cleaning out if He were to come right now? He did not say GET ready but His emphasis is, BE YE READY! Ready or not He is coming!
