This verse answers the most fundamental question one can ask regarding oneself. Why do I exist? Answering this question accurately is absolutely vital. It gives life purpose, direction, and control. It is not enough to understand that God made you. Why did He make you? He made you for Himself. He made you for His glory. This is probably not the first time you have heard this statement. But how does it affect you? Does it not give purpose or meaning to life? God is determined to receive glory out of His creation. As the last part of the verse informs us, His glory is just as much displayed out of His judgment on the wicked as it is in His salvation of the righteous. As heirs of salvation, it should be our thrill to seek to give God glory. So, this morning, you will face many moments. In those moments, you can choose to seek to honor God, to give Him glory, by what you do in the moment. You are made for God. Live like it today.
