The parable of the sheep in the goats teach us about two different types of people. The sheep are those who work as unto the Lord and in service to others. Whereas, the goats are those who work unto themselves. The goats work ultimately for money, success, self-fulfillment, etc. They work ultimately for self. And, if others are helped, it is a by-product. Both discover in the end that Jesus was very interested in their day to day labors. The sheep are accepted by Jesus and the goats are rejected.
But, the scary truth is that when we really examine our own motivations for work, we can't help but come to the conclusion that we are not very sheep-like. We exhibit many selfish, goat-like traits. So, is there any hope that we might escape God's judgment? Is there any way that we can become like sheep? Listen to the sermon to find out.
