Through preaching the gospel to them He makes known,
The riches of glory and grace by His cross:
Eternal possessions which cannot be lost.
Praise be to the Father who chose us in grace.
Praise be to the Son who has died in our place.
Praise be to the Spirit who gave us new birth.
Praise be to the One God of heaven and earth.
With all of our hearts does the Lord bid us sing
Come humbly before Him , thanksgiving to bring.
All others are idols, He lives, God alone
By grace He has saved us and made us His own.

When asked the question, ―Are you saved? Many people who believe they are saved try to prove it by describing their own actions and experiences. They may say things like – I accepted Jesus as my personal savior when I was a young person; or ―I was baptized when I was 12 years old; or ―I gave my heart to Jesus and joined the church many years ago. Some may even say things like ―I had a dream (or a vision) that turned my life around; or ―I had a near-death experience that caused me to turn my life around; or ―I quit smoking, drinking, etc. The problem is that in seeking to prove salvation by such things, people are really describing their own qualifications for salvation. The truth is this – WE AS SINNERS HAVE NO QUALIFICATIONS BY WHICH TO PROVE WE ARE SAVED. If we are truly saved by the grace of God, it is not our own qualifications but THE QUALIFICATIONS OF CHRIST WHO IS OUR SAVIOR. I can only prove my own personal salvation to anyone by describing the qualifications of my Savior.
He is both God and man in one Person (John 1:1,14; Rom. 1:1-4).
He is the one appointed of God to be the Savior of His elect (Isa. 42:1-4; Gal. 4:4-6).
He is the one who died and put away my sins (Heb. 1:1-3).
He is the one who arose from the dead because He finished the work of redemption for me (Rom. 4:23-25).
He is the Lord my Righteousness by whom I stand justified before God (Jer. 23:5-7).
He is my Advocate who always intercedes to plead my case (1 John 2:1-2).
He is the one who preserves and protects me to the end (Jude 24-25).
He is the one who is coming again to take me into glory with Him (Php. 3:20-21).
He is the one who is able to save me completely and eternally (Heb. 7:25).
Those who fancy themselves saved will most always talk about themselves and their own qualifications. Those who are truly saved will most certainly talk about Jesus Christ the Savior of His people.

In The Likeness of His Resurrection
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Romans 6:4-7
Consider dear friends, the comforting truth of this passage for believers. Being buried with Him by baptism into the death of Christ speaks of the elect sinner’s inseparable union with Christ in all that He did in His obedience unto death as their Substitute – in their room and stead. As such, they have all of the fruits of His accomplished death. It is a truth that just as sure as He was raised from the dead, all who were planted together in Him – all those He represented – shall without fail live spiritually and eternally with Him. They shall (1) walk in the newness of spiritual life, having been born again by the Spirit just as surely as they shall (2) also be raised unto heaven’s glory at the last day (John 6:39-40), all in the likeness of His resurrection. Not one for whom He lived and died can possibly suffer in hell due to sin which was destroyed or rendered powerless, speaking of the sins of all those who were baptized or made one with Him in His death. If you are among those to whom God has been pleased to reveal Himself through the Gospel of His sovereign grace, it is because you were planted together with Him. If so, rejoice in Christ Jesus and in the knowledge that this God-given gift of faith is evidence of spiritual life and therefore, an evidence of this gracious truth – of having been made one with Him in His death, burial and resurrection. He that is dead is freed (justified) from sin. So, just as sure as Christ died and arose from the grave, all those He represented shall likewise live with Him – and that forevermore!
