"He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him." Proverbs 14:2
Have you ever wondered who coined the expression “actions speak louder than words”? While we may not be able to trace the origins of that expression back to this verse, we can definitely see its message. I have spoken to people who assured me that they loved the Lord with all of their hearts. I usually respond to that statement by asking “what brought you to that conclusion?” The universal answer always points back to the way the individual feels about God.
In our verse this morning, we find that in God’s estimation, actions speak louder than words. Do you have a high view of God, or a low one? The answer to this question can be accurately discovered by how you make your day to day decisions. Do you strive to bring yourself under the influence and obedience of the Word of God, or are you just enjoying life, because it’s too short to waste? Again, the answer to this question is found in our day to day choices. May we live God fearing lives as we strive toward a life of righteous living.
