September was a month that culminated our 13 month transition at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. On September 14, Mt. Zion held a banquet to honor Dr. Randy and Shirley Starr for their 23 years of faithful ministry at Mt. Zion. The following day, Mt. Zion had the wonderful privilege of sending Dr. Starr out into the ministry of evangelism. What a weekend it was as our great God was glorified. On September 16, Pastor Chris Starr became the 7th Pastor in Mt. Zion’s 54-year history
September is a month of beginnings at Mt. Zion as Master’s Club (our children’s program began on the 1st Wed of September, and H.E.A.R.T., our homeschool co-op, began on Sept. 19.
On September 29, we will be baptizing a number of believers after the morning service. On October 6, we begin our new to the church class for those who are new to our church, and our missionary, Gina Frey will be giving an update from the field of Africa in our evening service.
Pastor Tom & Holly Almanza and their children will be moving here on Tuesday, October 2 to assume the responsibilities of an assistant pastor at Mt. Zion. October 16-20, we host our annual Missions Conference which is always a highlight of our year.
Remember the Reformers’ Unanimous (RU) that meets every Friday night from 7 to 9 in our Gym for the purpose of helping anyone who is addicted to anything.
Mt. Zion is best described as a family, where believers care for one another, where we build our lives on the foundation of Jesus Christ and His Word, and where we stand for the old-fashioned way. We seek to fervently evangelize the lost, disciple the saints, and build Godly families.
We invite you to come and visit a church where the preaching is Biblical and practical, where the music and worship are set on glorifying God, not exalting man, and where you can be edified by the saints.
