In his sermon,

THE VISIT

Rev Ken Elliott lets us see that the message of the Song of Solomon is indeed a very precious and yet simple to understand message.

He takes us to chapter 2 and we come upon one who has gone through a winter experience but it is now past (v11) - and we see her delight and emotion as she hears her beloved's voice.

Maybe you, as a Christian, have gone through, or are still going through, a winter experience in your life. Maybe your love for Christ has "frozen up" - or maybe circumstances of life have brought a chill to your innermost being.

May this sermon encourage you to just keep trusting in the Saviour, and keep expecting and waiting for His Voice to say to your soul,

"Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; " (v 10b,11)

What a transformation will be brought about by this Visit from the King of Kings ! Where once there was winter, the flowers will be blooming, with the fragrance of spring.

Maybe you are unsaved and have never had a meeting with the Saviour - repent and receive Him as your Saviour, and you will be able to sing:

"When Jesus comes, the tempter`s power is broken,
When Jesus comes, all tears are wiped away.
He takes the gloom and turns the night to gladness,
For all is changed when Jesus comes to stay."

Is it on good works, religion, self righteousness ? Or is it on the only true foundation - repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ ?

Rev Elliott also looks at the wisdom of those who consider their latter end, and act appropriately - and those who prepare for the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
