Three little words, at the end of a verse, and yet what a difference they make ! Acts 16:31 - "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved....."
And he remarked how so often we don`t quote the rest of the verse ......."and thy house" !!
We were praying for the Family Night Service, and what better verse to think upon for this purpose ?
God can unite whole families in Christ ! We should pray big , for we have a great God ! Keep praying for that family, and don`t give up !
We saw this for ourselves recently in our Church, when we learned that over the course of some weeks, that a whole family of five had come to the Lord !
So, next time, quote the whole verse ! And if you have unsaved family, don`t give up ! HE IS ABLE !
I came across three more words the following evening, at the Family Night Service. Dr Bert Cooke was giving his testimony, and at the end, he gave a few closing remarks on John 14:6 -
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. "
He spoke on those three little words......." but by Me "
Maybe you are reading this blog, and you are trying to get to Heaven by your good works or some other way - but the Lord Jesus says that there is no other way, "but by Me ."
To take it a little out of context - for those who are saved - may we always remember that we ought to keep looking to the Lord in our lives, in everything we do, for we cannot hope to succeed in what we put our hands to....."but by Me ." without Me ye can do nothing....." (John 15:5)
