Prayer for the church
Please pray for the on going weekly activities that God may bless each.

Thank God for all His blessings during the last week’s holiday bible club. Continue to pray that the children may come along to the Sunday bible club and youth clubs.

Please pray for Philip that he may he may get an appointment with a specialist soon.

Pray for Matt and Karen that the appropriate medical attention will be forthcoming when Karen is admitted for the birth.

Pray for our weekly prayer meetings that we may experience times of real liberty and power in prayer.

For the local area
Twickenham The church is encouraged by attendance at special services and would value prayer that these people will respond to the messages they have heard. The church correspondent adds, β€œOur Boys club, which was re-started in October, has grown very encouragingly please pray with us as we plan how to run this going forward. The church is in course of taking decisions regarding the way forward in various matters, particularly finance related, and would value prayer for wisdom.”

Jonathan Gardner, the pastor at Beulah Baptist Church, Watford, has accepted the call to the pastorate at Courland Grove Baptist Church, Clapham. Please pray for Jonathan, Abigail and the family as they move to Clapham at the end of 2006 and take up this new ministry.
Please also pray:
That the Lord will continue to bless the work in Clapham
that the church at Watford will discern the mind of the Lord as it considers its future
that Paul and Ruth Reed will know much blessing in their retirement

For the wider area
The Grace World View - Italy
Italy is the centre of the Roman Catholic Church, but the church is steadily losing its influence. Many are searching, but few are turning to Christ. A shortage of workers means that many never hear the gospel.
The population of Italy is approximately 58 million. Most (over 90%) are native Italians. There are significant cultural and economic differences between northern and southern Italian people.
Italy is a member of the European Union. Northern Italy has more industry and is wealthier than southern Italy. Rampant crime coupled with government inefficiency and instability has hampered economic growth.
Italy became a nation in 1861. After a series of authoritarian rulers, Italy became a republic following defeat in World War II. However, the elected governments have typically been unstable and short-lived. Corruption and crime are widespread. Much of the power in Italy lies with organized crime. These organizations have such influence that the government has had little success against them.
The Roman Catholic Church lost its position as the official state church in 1984. Although it still dominates, the Catholic Church has lost a significant amount of influence since World War II. The number of members and priests has fallen rapidly in recent years, and many are disillusioned with the church.
Unfortunately, most of those who have left the Catholic Church have turned to New Age thinking, the occult, or groups like the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Evangelicals account for approximately 1% of the population, and there has been limited growth.
Pray for the ministries of Christian radio and TV. There are abundant opportunities to reach people through these means.
