The commonly accepted answer has been some combination of beauty, sex appeal, and ambition. But a generation later, the question now is? How is this honor retained? Career ambition has led to disillusionment in many women’s experience. The goal of sex appeal has resulted in fractured marriages and the portrayal of women as objects of animalistic desire. The quest to retain natural beauty is a constant source of frustration and disappointment. What does God say? A woman that has the grace of God in her heart, that strives to be virtuous, that is not consumed with seeking attention, that seeks the approval of God over the stares of man – this woman retains her honor. Her honor comes from the Spirit of God within as opposed to the temporary and fickle standards of man. God’s wisdom truly is freedom for those who believe and heed His word.
