The idea behind this verse is that those who pursue righteousness will be guided by the righteousness they find. They will also reap the fruits of righteous living. Those who pursue wickedness will also be guided by the wickedness they find, and will reap the fruits of wicked living. With this being said, what are you currently using for your guide? It is so tempting to make our decisions based on our instant gratification. We look at our options and many times we are tempted to take the road that seems to be more desirable in the present. However, our desires can be very deceitful, and if we choose to make them our guide, we will eventually be destroyed by them. However, if the word of God is our guide, we may not find instant gratification, but we will find enduring joy. The Bible will direct you in right living that will not leave you ashamed or upset that you did not feed your desires, but will make you grateful to God that He saved you from your own wickedness.
