"The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it." Proverbs 10:22

This verse gives us a description of how the blessings of the Lord are experienced in the lives of His people. We learn that when we receive a blessing that comes from the hand of God, it does not produce grief or sorrow. This is such an important concept for us to remember as we try to discern God’s will for our lives.

Maybe you are considering a job change. While the idea might seem exciting for the present time, if it leaves you in a situation where you do not have access to a church or regular fellowship with the saints of God, it probably would not be wise to consider this opportunity a blessing from God. Maybe you are in love with an individual who you can’t imagine living without. If this individual is not walking with you in a pursuit of Godliness, you will eventually find yourself burdened and full of sorrow as the relationship matures.

We are so quick to try and view our wants in light of God’s blessings at times. When we do this we tend to view whatever we want as if it were God’s will. May we consider the goodness of God’s will and be thankful for His blessing to us on a daily basis.
