This is an important truth for us to remind ourselves regularly. Those who practice godly behavior do not have to be paranoid or suspicious; they are walking on a safe path. However, those who live an ungodly life, no matter how hard they try to deceive and cover their tracks, will be exposed. We have all seen those who thought they were fooling the world, only to discover after they have been exposed; that while people may be shocked, no one was really surprised at the depths of their ungodly decisions. Are you living a lie? Do your words draw close to God, while your commitments completely ignore Him? You can be sure that the only person you are ultimately deceiving is yourself. God is not mocked. While you may have a good reputation at this present time, God will expose you. While you may think you have a high standing in the minds of men, you only place yourself in a position that assures a greater fall without the grace of repentance. Turn your heart to God, and walk in obedience confessing your dependence on His mercy and grace. You will find that this is the abundant life. It is not cluttered with cheap thrills that fade into costly consequences. It is a life of self-denial that is well worth the price you will pay.
