âGive unto the LORD the glory that is due unto His Name: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.â (Psalm 29:2)
JESUS PAID OUR RANSOM PRICE Tune MY FAITH HAS FOUND CM/double Words by JIM BYRD
1. âTis so delightful to the mind Of every quickened soul; To think upon the Son of God, Whose blood has made us whole. Into this world the Savior came, To suffer in our stead And all the chosen sons of God, Were in Him when He bled.
2. The anger of a holy God, On Jesus Christ was poured; âTwas in this way His sinful sons, To God would be restored. Behold the sin-atoning Lamb, Laid down His life and died; When He expired the law of God Was fully satisfied.
3. What else could justice eâer demand, Since on Mount Calvary; The Substitute for sinful men, Was nailed unto the tree? He brought in peace and righteousness, When on the cross He died; Christ paid the ransom price in full, For all His chosen bride.
4. So now He lives and reigns above, In glory, strength and might; And soon we shall behold His face, O what a blessed sight. Then evermore around His throne, The gathered saints shall be; And praise Him for redeeming grace, Through all eternity.
SIN TAKEN AWAY âAnd ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sinâ (1 John 3:5). There was not a speck of sin on the conscience, nor a principle of sin in the nature of His people, for which Christ was not judged on the cross; and they are now looked upon as having died with Christ, lain in the grave with Christ, been raised with Christ, perfectly accepted in Him, their sins, their iniquities, their transgressions, their enmity, their uncircumcision, having been entirely put away by the cross. The sentence of death has been written on the flesh; but the believer is in possession of a new life, in union with his risen Head in glory. What rest â perfect rest â for the heart and conscience is here! What full relief for the burdened spirit! All our sins buried in the grave of Christ, not one â even the smallest â left out! God did this for us! All that His searching eye could detect in us, He laid on the head of Christ when He hung upon the cross! He judged Him there and then, instead of judging us in hell forever! âcopied
IN SEARCH OF THE SHEEP âFor thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search My sheep, and seek them out. As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out My sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark dayâ (Ezekiel 34:11-12). The Shepherd does not go forth in search of the lost sheep in order to make them His own. They are His already, therefore He refers to them as âMy sheep.â The Lordâs sheep were His before they became lost for they were given to Him by the Father in the election of grace. They remained His even when they became sinners due to Adamâs transgression. The good Shepherd said, âMy sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My handâ (John 10:27-28). These did not suddenly become His sheep upon hearing His voice and following Him. The Shepherd called them unto Himself, they heard His voice and followed Him because they were already His sheep. On the other hand, those who die in unbelief do not become goats by their refusal to believe on Christ. Their unbelief is conclusive evidence that they were never His sheep. âBut ye believe not, because ye are not of My sheep, as I said unto youâ (John 10:26). âPastor Jim Byrd
TODAYâS RELIGION QUESTIONED If you are serious about the salvation of your soul, then you must question the religious climate in which we live. Men claim to love God, yet they are ignorant of His holy character. Men boast of loving Jesus, but they have no idea of who the Lord Jesus is. They profess to be saved, but they have no real understanding of salvation by grace, effectual blood redemption or imputed righteousness and their salvation, they say, is conditioned upon their so-called âfreewill.â I admonish you to put every religious word under the microscope of the Word of God which will expose error and will, in the hands of the Holy Spirit, âmake you wise unto salvation.â âPastor Jim Byrd
