“My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer .” Psalm 45:1 This psalm is Messianic, a description of King Jesus. The writer says his heart is inditing something good. Inditing means to overflow or bubble up or to boil. Have you ever been so excited about something that you felt you were boiling over or bubbling up inside? That is how this author felt about Jesus.
In the environment of a fallen world and the sinful natures that we carry with us, it is easy for us to grow rather cold towards Jesus. It happens sometimes, maybe even not by design, that we move Him towards a back room of our hearts rather than front and center. The good news is, we can be revived in our love towards Jesus Christ.
Pray that God would grant you a heart that is bubbling over about Him. Remind yourself of who Jesus is—Savior, Lord, High Priest, Friend, Counselor, Sovereign God, Holy One. When our hearts boil over about Jesus, then our life will be moved towards greater faith, love, and fruitfulness.
