"The LORD reigneth, He is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith He hath girded Himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved." (Psalm 93:1) *************************************************************************** BEHOLD THE FATHER’S SON TUNE TO "MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO THEE 664.6664 WORDS BY JIM BYRD 1. Behold the Father’s Son, Jesus, the holy One, Nailed to the cross. Blest Lamb of Calvary, Died by divine decree, To save His family, From endless loss.
2. Our sins on Christ were laid, By Him our debt was paid, He took our place. Infinite wrath He bore, Justice demands no more; Who can such love explore? What wondrous grace!
3. God’s law is satisfied, Our Substitute has died, Taking our blame. "‘Tis finished," was His cry, Risen, He reigns on high, To God He brings us nigh, O praise His Name!
THE NAMES OF OUR LORD "Whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13). That statement made by the apostle Paul was taken from Joel 2:32. The Name of the Lord signifies Who He is, what He has done, why He did it, and where He is now. Concerning this Name, Simon Peter said, "Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other Name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Our Lord is Jesus, Jehovah who saves. In the Old Testament, He is called by several names, all revealing something about His person or His work. 1. Jehovah-jireh - the Lord provides (Genesis 22:7-14). 2. Jehovah-rapha - the Lord heals (Exodus 15:26). 3. Jehovah-nissi - the Lord our Banner (Exodus 17:8-16). 4. Jehovah-shalom - the Lord our peace (Judges 6:24). 5. Jehovah-ra-ah - the Lord our Shepherd (Psalm 23:1). 6. Jehovah-tsidkenu - the Lord our righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6). 7. Jehovah-shammah - the Lord is present, He is with us (Ezekiel 48:35) –Pastor Jim Byrd *************************************************************************** Consider the following words of John Newton, author of "Amazing Grace" – We sometimes see published in the newspapers, acknowledgments of cures received. I think, if I were to publish my own case, that it would run something like this:
"I, John Newton, have long labored under a multitude of grievous disorders: a fever of ungoverned passions, a cancer of pride, a frenzy of wild imaginations, a severe lethargy [laziness], and a deadly stroke! In this deplorable situation I suffered many things from many physicians, spent every penny I had—yet only grew worse and worse! In this condition, Jesus, the Physician of souls, found me when I sought Him not. He undertook my recovery freely, without money and without price—these are His terms with all His patients! My fever is now abated, my senses are restored, my faculties are enlivened! In a word, I am a new man! And from His ability, His promise, and the experience of what He has already done—I have the fullest assurance that He will infallibly and perfectly heal me—and that I shall live forever as a monument of His power and grace!

****************************************************************** "IT IS GOD WHO JUSTIFIES" (Romans 8:33) Behold the eternal security of the weakest believer in Jesus. The act of justification, once passed under the great seal of the resurrection of Christ, God can never revoke without denying Himself. Here is our safety. Here is the ground of our dauntless challenge, "Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God who justifies." What can I need more? What more can I ask? If God, the God of spotless purity, the God of inflexible righteousness, justifies me, "who is he that condemns?" Sin may condemn, but it is God that justifies! The law may alarm, but it is God that justifies! Satan may accuse, but it is God that justifies! Death may terrify, but it is God that justifies! "If GOD is for us, who can be against us?" Who will dare condemn the soul whom He justifies? How gloriously will this truth shine forth in the great day of judgment! Every accuser will then be dumb. Every tongue will then be silent. Nothing shall be laid to the charge of God's elect. GOD Himself shall pronounce them fully, and forever justified: "And those He justifies, He also glorifies." --Octavius Winslow
