Surprised by Oxford by Carolyn Weber; published 2011 by Thomas Nelson Publishers
Surprised by Oxford is an autobiographical account of one year in the life of the author. As one might expect, though, this was no ordinary year. This was the year she encountered Oxford University, fellow students and professors who challenged and taught her, genuine Christians with testimonies she could not deny, and, most importantly, she encountered God in a way only He can orchestrate.
What sets this book apart from other conversion accounts is the writing. Weber mixes poetry and wit with philosophy, theology and real life in a way that is immensely readable and tremendously enjoyable. I highly recommend Surprised by Oxford by Carolyn Weber.
This book is available in the MOPC library. (Or will be as soon as I return it. Ahem.)
