Three Aspects Of Saving Faith - Romans 10: 14

Beloved,

As one considers what saving faith is, there are three components that must be included; they are knowledge, assent and trust. Without these three components it is doubtful that real regenerative faith has been experienced. It must be highlighted here that the recipient of saving faith may not be fully aware of these components in their fullest expression and therefore have actually received the gift of faith unknowingly; so to speak. What is intended is that in the evaluation of saving faith, the three components of this type of faith must be present to one degree or another for faith to be qualified as saving faith.
In Romans 10: 14 the Apostle Paul says, “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? Within this text one can see each of the three components of faith; albeit not in the order presented just above. To a discussion of knowledge, assent and trust as the components of saving faith attention will now be turned.
