December 1st, 2011 Greetings in Jesus' Name from Naples, Italy,
It was bound to happen; the days are getting shorter, darker, and cooler (It happens every year like that). But, with that comes Christmas, yeah! It's definitely my favorite holiday, celebrating the birth of our Savior, Matthew 1:23 ...Emmanuel- God with us. And so, I want to wish you all a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Things are going well with us here in Italy, and we recently had a house full of about thirty folks consisting of American Military, and some African refugees for Thanksgiving Dinner. Though some of our folks were home with sickness we still had a great time of fellowship and thanksgiving. There was also another missionary family, Jamie Homan with his wife and three children came down from Rome, and celebrated with us. Jamie had been a Marine at the embassy in Rome, and God called him back there as a missionary.
I have another friend in Rome, who is a retired Navy Chief Corpsman. He and I were in Vietnam just south of the DMZ, and working with the same Marine units (The 4th Marines). He and his Italian wife have been very kind to us, and this church. He makes a trip down here to Naples every couple of months or so, and everytime he treats this ministry with goodies, For instance our 25+ pound turkey that we had for the Thanksgiving Dinner came from him. His purposeful blessings have sure made it pleasant for a whole lot of folks.
I also want to thank the churches, and individuals that have remembered us regularly, and especially for the Christmas season which has showed up already in our just received financial statement from BIMI. I'll not name names, but you know who you are, and most importantly, Our Lord knows you, and what you've done as well, Matthew 6:2-4; Hebrews 6:10.
Please continue to pray for Linda and I, for The Bible Baptist Church of Naples, for our service men and their families, and for our African Refugees as we minister far from our homeland, and far from the homeland of most of the people in this church. I'd also ask that you pray for a Marine friend, Jim Leake, who has a bad report from the doctor concerning cancer (God bless you my friend - "Here, there or in the air!") It's my desire to encourage everyone who has had a part in this ministry; remember, you have eternal rewards that can't be taken away. "Only one Life will soon be passed, only what's done for Christ will last!
In Christ's Service,
Chuck and Linda Truitt
