Thanks for praying. No procedure necessary! I did two stress tests last week. The first one was borderline with a lot of extra beats, but exercise tolerance was good. The second one was with a nuclear scan, which involved two injections of radioactive material, one before the treadmill and the second after the treadmill. The second treadmill exercise went even better (14 minutes on the treadmill), and the nuclear scan was excellent. There was no evidence of an blockage of the stents or new areas of blockage, much to my delight.
The 24 hour monitor had to be repeated because the first would not download into the computer. The second was no problem, but showed 35,000 extra beats/day, or 1/3 of the total beats were abnormal! The electrophyisiology cardiologist felt that if I was having excessive fatigue or other symptoms, then he would do an ablation procedure. But in talking with my cardiologist, the procedure does not improve your longevity, and so he has changed my medication to a different beta-blocker. A lot easier than undergoing a procedure! So we are happy and on our furlough schedule.
Last Sunday, I had a chance to present in a Sunday school class at our home church, Community Baptist Church, in the morning. We then spoke at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Niles, Michigan in the evening. Wednesday we went to Prairie Baptist Church in Scott, Michigan, and had a time of fellowship with Pastor Harrison and his wife afterwards. This weekend, we will be traveling to Indianapolis. We plan to meet with my brother and his wife on Saturday evening. We will be at Colonial Hills Baptist Church all Sunday. Monday we will stop at a ministry of theirs for some items (like a giant missions closet, I understand). We will head to Eaton, Ohio for the week in their missionary guest house. We will report to our supporting church, First Baptist Church of Milford, Ohio on Thursday night, and then go next weekend to Waverly, Ohio where my parents were in a retirement center (my mother for 34 years!). We will speak at two churches in the area.
The churches in Suriname seem to be doing well. The cost of the electricity hookup for the Sunny Point building was more than expected, but has been paid off. We are praying also for a PA system for the church. If we find one, I am hoping to be able to send it with our forthcoming shipment of 10,000 Bibles, which are being processed for our 4th printing. We would also appreciate your prayers for the New Testament commentary which is being printed in 1000 copies.
