“For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. ” I Peter 3:12 It’s a great comfort and strength just to know He’s there and that He hears. It does sometimes feel like our groaning prayers are not good enough to get to God, or that they’re simply empty, lifeless words. But because our God is merciful and compassionate beyond measure, He condescends to see where we are and to hear our hearts’ desires.
So, call on Him! Don’t hold back. Pour out your praise, confessions, and requests. Fancy words aren’t required; fake eloquence is not appropriate. Just real hearts offering real prayer to a real God.
His face is against those who habitually do evil. He has no ears for those who have no heart for Him. While we are righteous only in Christ, may we pray to our God while seeking to live in true righteousness before His all-seeing eye. He sees, He hears, He loves!
