March, 2011 will never be forgotten at Mt. Zion!!! Our church had a taste of what a Revival could be. It started with 47 visitors on Friend Day, Sunday March 20th for the first day of our Spring Revival with Evangelist Tom Farrell. Fourteen adults and teens received Christ and four more rededicated their lives and all came forward to make it public. Tears were common in the auditorium that morning. Two also received Christ in children’s church and four other teens had received Christ in the three days previous. But God was not done. We saw over 130 visitors for the week, packed services every night, a children’s revival service, 21 adult and teen salvations total, two teen boys surrender to the ministry, and scores of folks making other decisions every night. Many of those folks returned the following Sunday for services. To God be the glory!!
Our bi-annual Shepherd’s Retreat for men in the ministry convened Tuesday, March 22 starting at 11:30am with a full meal. Then, Dr. Farrell challenged us on Encouragement from Discouragement, Passion for the Ministry, and Preaching that Pleases God. Each participant received Dr. Farrell’s hardback book, Preaching that Pleases God as a gift.
Our four Adult Bible Classes on Sunday morning began at the beginning of March with twenty or more in each class. We put out a newsletter to 15,000 homes in March, too.
April also has its challenges. Pastor Bill is making a 2 ½ week survey trip of the Philippines praying about going there as a missionary. Pastor Chris will take the High School Juniors and Seniors on their annual 4-day trip to NYCity and Connecticut. Sunday night, April 17, Ron Williams of the Hephzibah House in Winona Lake IN, will be preaching. Easter is April 24th. Perhaps you can join us in that day’s special celebration. And we launch VBS in April each year with our first workers’ meeting.
