Psalm 125:1 "They that trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth forever."
The righteous (they that trust in the Lord) cannot be removed. They abide forever because they are shut up in Christ. He has rendered all the obedience they owed Gods broken law, he has satisfied all the law they transgressed, he has suffered all the wrath they earned, he has died the death they deserved, he has paid the ransom they could not and he provided for them a robe of righteousness that, imputed to them, secures them in an unchangeable standing of justification before God.
Psalms 102:25 "Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end."Sinner, is this the God you trust? These alone abide forever.

AN IDIOT AND A MADMAN
When one is spiritually reborn, he sees at one and the same moment . . ..God and self, justice and guilt, power and helplessness, a holy law and a broken commandment, eternity and time, the purity of the creator, and the filthiness of the creature. And these things he sees--not merely as declared in the Bible--but as revealed in himself as personal realities, involving all his happiness or all his misery in time and in eternity. Thus it is with him as though a new existence had been communicated, and as if for the first time he had found there was a God!
It is as though all his days he had been asleep, and were now awakened--asleep upon the top of a mast, with the raging waves beneath--as if all his past life were a dream, and the dream were now at an end. He has been . . .hunting butterflies, blowing soap bubbles, fishing for minnows, picking daisies, building houses of cards, and idling life away like an idiot or a madman. He had been perhaps wrapped up in a religious profession--advanced even to the office of a deacon, or mounted in a pulpit. He had learned to talk about Christ, and election, and grace, and fill his mouth with the language of Zion.
But what did he experimentally know of these things? Nothing, absolutely nothing! Ignorant of his own ignorance (of all kinds of ignorance the worst)--he thought himself rich, and increased with goods, and to have need of nothing--and knew not that he was wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked."

"AND HE WAS SPEECHLESS"
"And he was speechless." The scriptures tell us that this was the state of the man that Christ told of in Matthew 22:12. When asked why he came to the wedding without a garment, he answered nothing!
Many fancy to themselves that when they stand before God they will plead their own case and come out the better for it. Not only do we have this story to give a solemn preview and warning of that hour but many times the same thing happened when Christ was confronted by men on earth. His answers were truthful, final and with all the authority of heaven behind them and no man ask Him any more questions.
Like the wedding garment, no man shall stand in the presence of a righteous God without a perfect righteousness. In that hour there will be nothing left to ask or to dispute. God has already told us what kind of righteousness He demands and provides.
We should be speechless even now because God has said that "there is none righteous, no not one." Years of boastings and arguments would not change this devastating truth....we have no righteousness that God will accept! Our righteousness is as filthy rags!
We should be speechless at the realization that there is no way in which they can in their own strength produce this righteousness. All their laborings, all their religious activities, all their ceremonies and rituals, all their good works and morality... none will produce this righteousness for they are all defiled with sin.
We are left speechless because God has provided a perfect righteousness in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a free gift of the grace of God. God gives it and He will accept it and it alone! This covering or robe of righteousness which is illustrated by the wedding garment is received by faith. All without Christ are without it and stand this moment under the just condemnation of God because they have not believed on the Son of God. (John 3:18) They rush headlong toward that day when they shall stand speechless before this righteous God and hear Him say, "Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." (Matt. 22:13)
Though we may offer excuses, human logic and prideful arguments and speculations now, they will be speechless on that day. Let me be speechless now, trusting my Advocate, the Lord Jesus Christ, to plead His righteousness on my behalf both now and then.
