Our 2 new adult SS classes are going well—“Faithful Men Teaching Others” taught by Pastor Starr and the “Ladies Marathon Class—becoming a great woman for God” organized by Mrs. Starr. Pastor Bill Hardecker is also teaching our adult auditorium class for 8 weeks on “How to Study Your Bible”.
October was busy, too. Pastor Chris preaches a 4-night revival at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Tioga PA, pastored by our friend, Steve Neff. Sunday, October 10th, Pastor and Shirley celebrate 20 years at Mt. Zion. October 15th, our local chapter of Reformers Unanimous celebrated its fifth year anniversary with Ben Burks, International Director of RU speaking. RU meets every Friday night, 7-9 in the Annex Gym to help those with addictions. If you know someone struggling with an addiction, bring them to the Gym on this Friday at 7:00.
We helped Susquehanna Valley Baptist Church of Linglestown get started in October. Their first Sunday morning, they had 51 with 35 from the area and 20 new visitors throughout the week of meetings. Praise be to our God!
Our annual 5-day Faith Promise Missions Conference with five missionaries culminated with our Faith Promise of $129,450. Sunday, October 31, our youth took charge of our evening service.
The Red Lion High School confirmed that we can have the The CIA Club (High School Bible Study) in Red Lion High School again this year. CIA Club is held on both A & B Weeks every other Tuesday during club hour at 11:45 in room B209. Call our office at 927-9227 ext 2 or ask for Pastor Chris.
November is a much lighter month with guest speakers Evangelist Dan Stroup and Missionary to the Romanian Gypsies, Peter Heisey (Nov. 10). Thursday, November 18 at 10:30, our Home Schoolers will have their annual Spelling Bee and Speech Day. Thursday, November 18, our youth will engage in Bible quizzing with four other churches over James 1-4. On Sunday night, November 28, we’ll have our bi-annual “4-men preach” night. This is something we started when Pastor Starr first arrived in 1991 which has been used of God to develop leadership in the church.
