Dear Praying Friends, Thank you for praying for our need to find a new place to live and meet for church. Just over two weeks ago we signed a contract on a new place. Since that time, I have hardly opened my computer or sat down at my desk. (I am not even sure where my desk is at this time.) There have been changes to the future building that needed to be made before we could move in. Tearing down walls, packing up boxes, preparing furniture for storage, building a new platform, and many more tasks have consumed our time and our present building like an inferno. Considering that we need to be out of this building by this Friday (October 15th), all has been going quite well. A huge road block now stands between us and our deadline for moving out this week; A MONSOON. We are being hit by the worst storm of the year. Because the stairway of our house is very narrow, we will have to use a crane to lift most everything into the upper floors. The rain will destroy most everything while it is swinging from a crane, so we must wait. Please pray for the rain to stop sooner than expected. This storm is expected to continue through Wednesday or Thursday.
We are not the only ones being adversely effected. The Shulls house was flooded by this storm earlier today. Their whole neighborhood is under water. They had to turn the electricity off and abandon their home to go stay at a guest house. Please pray for rain to stop in order for them to get back to their home and start cleaning up. Also please pray for the people of their neighborhood. Many of their church members are from that area also. Pray that God will give the Shulls and their church members special opportunities to witness for Christ because of this crisis.
Next Sunday will be our first meeting in the new location. The neighbors have proven to be very curious. Some have been surprised to find out that the services are open to everyone, not just to Christians. Some have alrready promised to come. Lord willing, God will use our relocation to reach a group of people we may not have other wise been able to reach.
Some of you know about Becky's health prooblems. This move could literally kill her. Please pray for her health this week.
I also have an unspoken request. I hate uspoken requests, but it would be wrong for me to share the details. A decision that I must make seems to leave me with no good choices. Please pray that God would give me wisdom about what He would have me do.
Thank you for your faithful prayers,
Rodney Ruppel
