I strongly recommend the following two sermons to you. Dr. Sinclair Ferguson’s message on Luke 16:1-9, “The Strangest Parable Ever?” This text has always alluded me. I remember sitting in a homiletics class in seminary, and the professor assigned this passage to the class. We did our best with it, but it was clear that we really did not understand what Jesus is saying. Even more surprising, our professor, one of the finest homileticians around, wasn’t sure he understood it either. I have always left this parable scratching my head. Dr. Ferguson unpacks it clearly in this message. It seems so simple now!! You can find it here . Matt Chandler’s message, “Culture and Theology: Homosexuality.” My wife and a friend recommended this message to me. Including a Q and A, it lasts over 2 hours! It took me three workouts at the gym to finish listening to it on my wife iPod, but it was worth it. Chandler handles this tough, emotionally charged, often misunderstood subject with charity, biblical balance, and a firm stand for truth. It would be a great asset for any preacher because everyone of us should address this topic. It would be helpful for family and friends who desire to minister to loved ones trapped in a homosexual lifestyle. It would also be enlightening for one engaged in or tempted by homosexuality. Evangelicals have been poorly represented in this area. Chandler takes us a long way forward! You can find it here .
