Webcast: Singing in the Church
"Knowing The Truth " with Pastor Kevin Boling is a live, call-in radio program providing Doctrinal Dialog, Cultural Commentary and Insightful Interviews with some of today's foremost Christian authors and leaders. On the first half of the program today, I will speak with Brian Combs - Pastor of Messiah Church (Reformed Presbyterian) about The Book of Psalms for Worship - A Psalter for the 21st Century by Crown and Covenant Publishing (http://www.crownandcovenant.com/ ) . The newest American Psalter offers many familiar tunes and new arrangements with language that is easily understood by the 21st century Christian, while remaining faithful to the Hebrew text.
On the second half of the program today, I will speak with Doug O'Donnell about his book "God's Lyrics: Rediscovering Worship Through Old Testament Songs" (http://www.prpbooks.com/ )
God's Lyrics carefully reviews six songs of the Old Testament and points to these as the appropriate standard for lyrics in today's Christian music.
