HAPPY NEW YEAR!
HEARING AND DOING
Mt 7: 21-23
The difference in entering into the kingdom of heaven and not entering into the kingdom of heaven has to do with being a doer of the word and not a hearer only. But there is a difference between what the naturally religious man hears in God's word and what the believer hears. So there is a difference between what the naturally religious man does and teaches and what the believer does and teaches. These are moral, religious, church-going, professing Christians. They are convinced that they have not been hearers only but doers in the name of the Lord so much so that they profess all to the Lord. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
YE THAT WORK INIQUITY
Notice here, the Lord says, "Ye that work iniquity." In their present testimony before the Lord, they ARE working the very same iniquity they worked and taught others to work throughout their earthly ministry. Their testimony never was Christ. And even standing before the Lord it is not "Christ!" Every word and every work was in his name, but the entire ministry was, "WE."
THE WILL OF GOD THE FATHER
Mt 7: 21
The will of the Father is for all his children to come to Christ and the Father will make them all come to Christ. The Father's will is for Christ to save them. (John 6: 36, 44-45; John 6: 37-40) In John 6 the Lord Jesus takes the place of a witness of Christ because the people asked him what they must do that they might work the works of God. The work is to believe on him who has called you from the first hour to the last. Tell others to believe on him who has called you from the first hour to the last. Wait on him who has called you to raise up sinners through the word of truth from the first hour to the last. That is what Christ does and what he tells them the work of God is.
KNOWN OF CHRIST
Mt. 7: 23
This word "knew" is much more than knowledge, it is "oneness." When Christ makes himself known, he makes himself one with the sinner, even as the Father and the Son are one (John 10: 14, 15, 30.) The Lord ordained a husband and wife to become one flesh to exemplify this oneness of Christ and his church, of each believer in particular (Ephesians 5: 30-32.) This infinite oneness, love and delight God has with his Son is the infinite oneness, love and delight God has with those he created in his Son before he founded the world (Romans 8: 29.) When God calls a sinner in time, it is not in order to make you a son at that time, but because the Father made you a son before time when he put you in Christ. The adoption of sons lets us in on what has been from before time (Galatians 4:6.) What manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us! (1 John 3: 1.)
THE DIFFERENCE
God the Father and his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ is the difference between how the believer hears and does and how the naturally religious man hears and does. When God teaches you to come to Christ, when Christ makes you to know that he abides in you and you in him, one with God the Father and God the Son, then there is but one thing that shall surely happen: You will hear Christ and do his sayings (Matthew 7: 24-25; I Corinthians 4: 7.)
HIS SAYINGS
Mt 7: 24-27
First, believe on Christ the Solid Rock. Christ himself is the Perfection of everything written in the law and the prophets, the Righteousness that exceeds the scribes and the Pharisees.
Secondly, whatsoever you would that men do to you do also to them, this is the end of the law and the prophets. Loving the Lord thy God with all your heart and your brethren as yourself is the same as believing on Christ Jesus his Son and teaching others to trust him, waiting on Christ to do the necessary work of grace in you and them. If we love as we would have men to love us then trust Christ alone and teach others all flesh is grass and that salvation IS Christ alone. This is what he has taught through his sermon on the mount.
Thirdly, enter in at Christ the Straight Gate, and continue in him with others who call on the Lord out of a pure heart, fleeing from false prophets and youthful lusts (Mt 7: 15-25; 2 Timothy 2: 19-22.)
ON CHRIST THE SOLID ROCK I STAND
ALL OTHER GROUND IS SINKING SAND
Jeremiah 23: 28 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD. 29: Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? 30: Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour. 31: Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith. 32: Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.
