Do You Have Trouble Believing?
Several years ago I spoke with a friend who asked me what I believed concerning the Bible. I have found that most people who ask that question, really and truly do not want to know. They just want you to give them a touchy-feely answer so they can go on feeling good about themselves. As seriously and genially as I could, I told him what I believed concerning the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. When I finished he said this. "I have trouble believing what seems to condemn me and my family." He saw condemnation in my words, but to me they were words of hope, grace, mercy and salvation.
When will men become willing? Only in the day of His Power; and that is His business! Everyone who has or ever will live, will have trouble believing the true Gospel, because the true Gospel condemns us ALL. No one will ever believe it unless God in His Sovereign Grace divinely intervenes and reveals it to us.
