Dear Praying Friends,

We have had a great August with good summertime Sunday morning and evening services and a great VBS with a high day of 67 children and mothers, almost 40 being brand new. One soldier's family that attends our church brought over 15 kids and a mother from the on-base housing at the nearby military base. Angie, a doctor and major in the Mexican Army, invited the doorman of her apartment building to he send his kids, who attended all week. His wife attended our closing program on Sunday with several other parents. We had 86 on Sunday. One of the military couples from the on-base housing who sent their kids, Jose and Marina, came on Sunday and invited me to visit them at their apartment on base. Another military couple had received a VBS flyer and came the Sunday before VBS. His daughter attended VBS and they want to continue to attend the church. Luis attended a good Baptist Church in Cuernavaca while he was stationed there. He wants to send his daughter to the Christian school.

On August 2nd, we had two baptisms: Abraham the lawyer was excited to be baptized and Armando, Raymundo's brother, was baptized. I am so glad Armando has been coming to church again. While we were gone in June he had two knee surgeries which had kept him out of church. He plays tennis every day, which keeps him from being more committed to church. His daughter even is going to a university in the States on a tennis scholarship, a source a parental pride for him. Hopefully the surgeries will wake him up to the idea to put God before tennis.

We almost thought that we would not be able to continue the Christian school this year due to financial needs, but it looks like God does not want it discontinued. We have several new families who want to put their kids in the school including two families from our church. It makes a busy last two weeks as we get books ordered and prepare the school before we leave for furlough.

Thank you for your prayers, Clint Rardin
