We had a great Thursday night service last week. The auditorium was packed as we taught on the Jewish Passover as well as taught and observed the Lord's supper as this year their Passover fell on the same day as Christ died on our Easter week. Alberto, a Jewish friend of mine, and his wife, Leticia, joined us. Although, we did not celebrate the Jewish Passover, I did have the meal laid out there to teach on it and used the occasion to preach the glad tidings of salvation to our guest of Zion using almost exclusively Old Testament verses except for a few from Hebrews. We also had four other visitors.
Please pray for the salvation of Alberto and his family. I spent 3 and a half hours with him the Saturday before last witnessing to him and 2 hours this last Saturday. The veil is still over his eyes and he just cannot get past the idea the God could come in the form of a man as Jews are taught against the idea that God be represented by the similitude of images, or beasts, or a man. Simply put, he is putting his Jewish reasoning before the Scriptures. Please pray as only the power of God can open his eyes; but I can confident that he will be saved as the Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to the Jew first.
Although several were out of town for Easter vacation, we had a good solid Easter attendance with a new extended family of eight attending both the morning and evening services. I am so glad to see a good crowd in our Sunday night services. The new family consists of Gerardo; his wife; his mother; his two daughters-in-law; and three grandchildren. They say they want to continue to attend. Armando, Raymundo's brother, that was recently saved continues to attend and tithes faithfully. Antonio, Raymundo's nephew, comes with him. Oscar and his wife continue to come and, this week, his son and fiancee came to the evening service. Lilia continues to attend and brought her grown son on Thursday. Abraham, the lawyer, and his wife and two kids still attend. We have 18 in all that have started to attend in the last couple of months and continue to come.
Although we are excited about all these new Christian families, we desire to see the lost saved and added to the church. Please pray for our Spring campaign that begins on April 26 with Kid's day and lasts until May 24 that souls be genuinely saved. Last Spring we saw 25 souls saved and 25 added to the church. I know that God can even do more this year if we work and pray.
