As Paul and Barnabas spoke boldly in the Lord the Lord spoke boldly in Paul and Barnabas testifying, or bearing witness, in the hearts of a great multitude in the synagogue. What a sign and wonder of the grace of God our Savior, King Jesus. This great multitude of Jew and Greeks were dead, buried in the grave clothes of sin and depravity, the stone of the law having sealed them in their tomb; they had an issue of blood which after they had spent everything had profited them nothing; they were born blind to Christ's glory, deaf to his word, not in their right minds, and impotent in their feet.

Yet, through the gospel, Christ the Lord testified to the word of his grace and thereby worked the signs and wonders only the word of his grace can work in sinners. Our Divine is Life. Therefore the new spirit which he created within them was eternally alive. What a sign and wonder of his amazing grace! Our Divine is holy and undefiled. Therefore when they were born of him through the word they were born with a nature free from that issue of blood they had received from Adam which was their escape from the corruption that is in the world through lust. What a sign and wonder of his amazing grace! Our Divine is Light, Truth and Wisdom. Therefore, by the Light abiding in them through the gospel they could behold Christ by faith, by the Voice they could hear the word of free grace, by the Wisdom they had the mind of Christ that they might know that all spiritual blessings were freely given to them through his work at Calvary. What a sign and wonder of his grace that he would testify in the hearts of his people the word of his grace and that by these precious promises make them partakers of his divine nature!

It was an amazing sign and wonder of his word of grace that he made Paul and Barnabas speak boldly for him. It was an amazing sign and wonder of his word of grace that through teaching Jew and Greek in the heart a great multitude thereby believed. Therefore, all present confessed through faith that Christ Jesus the Lord, the Son of God is indeed, THE Sign and the Wonder in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion (Is 8: 18; Heb 2: 10-18.)
