Please pray for our anniversary Sunday. I believe my papers should be ready by in and that I will be able to preach the gospel. Although we are not doing any massive advertisement, we are enviting people we know, relatives, neighbors, etc.
Please pray for the brother of Rosario, one of the ladies in our church. She has invited him to every big day and this could be the day he comes out to church. He has been going though it as he lost a long-time friend in the plane crash you probably heard about in the news. His friend was part of the party that accompanied the interior secretary. The plane crashed just several blocks from our neighborhood. We were passing out tracts at the bus stops along the main highway. The plane crashed just a few blocks up the highway about a half hour before. There were all kinds of emergency vehicles passing by and the traffic was practically at a stand still at the next exit from where the plane crashed.
Many think the crash was set up by narcotrafficantes who wanted to send a message to Felipe Calderon. The Interior Secretary is the most powerful cabinet member here. Many have become president. It is far different from the position in the States. It is comparable to the Secretary of State in our state government. He is in charge of all the internal affairs of the government. He headed up the great fight against the narcotrafficantes that is taking place here. He was also a close personal friend of Calderon. Calderon is the first president to really stand up and fight against the mafia here. I knew he would be a great president when he ran for office. I wish we could trade him for Obama. He is more close to American ideas than our future "American" president. It is strange to have two heads of state on either side of the border more conservative than our future president.
Enough said, please pray for all those that will be invited to the anniversary on the 16th: that God will bring them with hearts prepared and that the power of God be on the preaching.
