Preaching Conference - April 22-25

Please plan to join us for our Preaching Conference April 22nd through the 25th. After all these years, we get a sense when God is going to bring special blessings, and we definitely believe this is the case concerning this spring. The college is celebrating its 25th Anniversary so even more graduates than usual will be joining us. We are also excited about this being the first conference in our beautiful, new auditorium. Of course preaching is the reason we are gathering, and you can tell by the lineup that, with God's help, it will be outstanding. Please plan on being with us.

Barb Kenderdine

We buried one of God's choicest servants again on January 18, 2002. Mrs. Barb Kenderdine was killed in a traffic accident in Cambodia. I don't know why God chooses to take his best home to heaven early, but this is certainly the case with Barb. The entire family is wonderful, as good an example of what we find taught in the Bible as any I know.

Sharon and I were in Cambodia to visit them in November. They are sent directly out of Fairhaven Baptist Church. John worked with Rodney Ruppel in Phnom Penh while learning the language and is eventually planning to go to Siem Reap to begin his own work.

In my opinion, Cambodians are the nicest nationality of people I've ever visited; however, the country is terribly depressed by Buddhism and Communism. Twenty years ago Pol Pot's rebels murdered every person who even looked like a leader; so an entire generation of educators, politicians, business people, etc., are gone and the country is in poverty.

The terrible roads and infrastructure are what caused Barb's death. They both loved the people dearly, and John plans to return. Please pray as he raises his three children and makes plans for the future.

-Dr. Roger Voegtlin
