My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies’ sake. Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave. Psalm 31:15-17

HOW DO WE GLORIFY GOD?

"That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God" (Rom. 15:6).

1). He is glorified when the perfections of His nature are recognized and exalted (Psalm 115:1; Eph. 1:3-14).

2). He is glorified when the work of His hands is praised (Psalm 111:1-3; John 17:2-5).

3). He is glorified when His mercy and grace in Christ are received and loved (Rom. 5:1-5; Eph. 2:4-10).

4). He is glorified when grateful sinners approach Him in worship and thanksgiving (1 Thes. 5:16-18).

5). He is glorified when the walk, talk and conduct of His people are agreeable to His calling (Eph. 4:22-24).

6). He will be glorified when all things in Christ are subdued unto Him (1 Cor. 15:24-25). Pastor Henry T. Mahan (bulletin 1993)

A NEW CREATURE

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

The Lord Jesus Christ does not show blind men how to see. He gives them new eyes and they see Him! The Lord Jesus Christ does not tell deaf men how to hear. He gives them new ears and they hear Him! The Lord Jesus Christ does not beg lame men to walk. He gives them new legs and they leap as a hart, and follow Him! All who are in Christ receive a new mind of repentance toward Him, a new will that bows to Him, a new heart that believes and loves Him. Yes, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature! Pastor Gabe Stalnaker

  1. GRACE has been defined as “unmerited favor.” If grace is unmerited, then none can claim it as a right.
  1. If GRACE is “unearned and undeserved,” then none are entitled to it.
  1. If GRACE is a “gift,” then none can demand it.
  1. If GRACE is a “free gift” then, God has the right to bestow it upon whom He will. (Don’t you give gifts to whom you want?)
  1. If salvation is by GRACE then, the very chief of sinners, the worst of the worst, is not beyond the reach of Divine mercy.
  1. Because salvation is by GRACE, boasting is excluded and God gets all the glory.

“To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.” (Ephesians 1:6).

Pastor David Eddmenson

THERE IS NONE LIKE THEE
2 Samuel 7:22

Believers can never be found guilty of giving too much honor, praise, and all glory unto our sovereign God. David sits in the temple of God and prays and rejoices in his heart because of the multitudes of grace and mercy revealed and experienced in his life. He prays, "Who am I, O Lord God? And what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?" (2 Sam. 7:18). Truly, every believer can identify with David. When we consider who we are, sinners by birth, choice, and practice (I John. 1:7-9) and when we consider who God is, holy, just, and almighty (Isa. 45:21), it is amazing and astounding that He would show mercy to any, even more so that God would show mercy to me, the chief of sinners (I Tim. 1:15). Every believer can say with David, "Thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears" (2 Sam. 7:22). The scriptures plainly reveal to us there is none like our God (Isa.46:9).

What is He like? Consider these five scriptures from the word!

1). "Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness?" (Exo. 15: 11).

2). "Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He retaineth not his anger for ever, because He delighteth in mercy" (Micah 7: 18).

3). "O Lord God of hosts, who is a strong Lord like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee? Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them" (Psa. 89:8-9).

4). "Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works. All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name. For thou art great, and doest wondrous things; thou art God alone" (Psa. 86:8-10).

5). "And Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven; and he said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart" (1 Kings 8:22-23).
