The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah. Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. Psalm 20:1-4
Christ Our Life
“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” (1 John 5:11-12)
“This is the record,” declared the Apostle John; this is the sum and substance of all that is written and preached. God, out of His pure, free-grace is pleased to give unto us ETERNAL LIFE.
This life is the spiritual life lost in the fall, life forever free from sin, sorrow, and death. This life is in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ! This life is not only purchased by Him, but HE IS THAT LIFE (Col. 3:4).
He that has the redeeming Christ, the interceding Christ, the indwelling Christ has life (Col. 1:27)!

THE FINISHED WORK
“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.” (John 17:4).
The painting of the “Mona Lisa” by Leonardo da Vinci was finished in the early 1500’s and is described as the best known, the most visited, the most written about piece of workmanship in all the art world. Can you imagine someone like me, who has no artistic talent, taking a child’s crayon to add some additional colors and detail to improve upon this masterpiece? That would not only be ridiculous, but criminal.
Is it not the same thing when we attempt to add to the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ? To endeavor to add anything to His perfect and finished work is to realistically take away from it. Pastor David Eddmenson
WHAT “GOOD NEWS”
The doctrines we preach and love are not mere teachings of some particular method or plan, but the doctrines of Christ, who is our gospel; Christ, who is sovereign over all flesh; Christ, whose grace is both sovereign and free. Not to preach a sovereign Christ, is to preach another Christ. To preach another Christ is to preach another gospel (which is not another, (Gal. 1:6-9). It is just that simple. Mark it down: you cannot separate Christ from the gospel or the gospel from Christ, for they are one and the same. And Christ is sovereign over all things and over all flesh, giving life freely to whom He will. The message of life for poor, guilty sinners is the message of the Christ of God, who saves sovereignly and freely, even the chief of sinners! What “Good News.”

THE FUNDAMENTAL DIFFERENCE
Here is the fundamental difference between the man of faith and the man of unbelief. The unbeliever is "of the world", judges everything by worldly standards, views life from the standpoint of time and sense, and weighs everything in the balances of his own carnal making. But the man of faith brings in God, looks at everything from His standpoint, estimates values by spiritual standards, and views life in the light of eternity. Doing this, his heart is calm in the midst of the storm. Doing this, he "rejoices in the hope and glory of God."

WHO IS JESUS CHRIST?
“Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen”(Rom. 9:5).
God sovereignly separated this Jewish nation from all others (Deut. 7:6-8). From this nation God called out sinners like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and David and gave them faith in Christ. But still a much greater honor and exalted privilege was given to this nation, “Of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came.” The holy humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ came through these people (Psalm 132:11; Rom. 1:3; Heb. 2:14-17). This declares unto us that He really was a true man, born of a woman, made under the law (Gal. 4:4). He was a real man born in time, apart from sin (Rom. 8:3). Not only is the sinless humanity declared in this scripture, but also His real deity, “Who is over all, God blessed for ever.” We must have a Saviour such as this (Acts 20:28). One Who is God over all and at the same time, the sinless man in one blessed person, the old writers referred to Christ Jesus as the God-man. Paul, the apostle called Him, God our Saviour (Titus 1:3; 2:10; 3:4). Our blessed Lord in His incarnation remained what He was, “God over all blessed for ever” and became what He was never before, “flesh” (John 1:1, 14; 1Tim. 3:16).
