My niece has a small farm. She and her family went on a short vacation and I stayed at her house and took care of the animals. Let's have a few preliminaries: I like to look at horses but I'm not real keen on messing with them but of course she has one. High Ho Silver - yeah no. Cats! Three in the house and a gazillion outside. Some people are cat people; I'll let you take a guess if I am. Add a duck pen with no door. Let's just say I was lucky to leave with both hips still in place. Then THEN there were the pigs. Hey I grew up watching Porky Pig and Bugs Bunny like all other good Americans. I love to eat them but not take care of them. Global warming real or unreal don't get me started but let's just say it was hot and humid. Pigs love slop; it is down right disturbing. But WAIT that's not all folks nope not my 3 little Porky Pig wannabes. My niece warned me they would bite my feet. Have you looked at our government lately, like I need one more scary image in my head. Sandals not a good choice for footwear make that a mental note. Ok fill the chop bucket, climb the gate, dump previously mentioned bucket and try not to be mauled. These pigs have completely ruined the nursery rhyme "this little piggy went to market". No one will ever mistake me for Old McDonald's wife. Sure enough they bite my feet (not hard) but wait that's not all; they start pulling my skirt. We've crossed a line folks when it comes to my skorts. It got to the point it was like I was going to dislocate an appendage trying to get the bucket dumped before the mauling :-). Life is an adventure! Sometimes though we have "pigs" that are frightening. Trials and circumstances that take our breath away and cause us to become frantic with fear and worry. The "pig" sucks out all the joy. Are you facing fearful things today where you're at? God wants us to face them through Him. Pastor Chris preached "Help! I Have a Spirit of Fear" during the 8/13/23 am service. God hasn't given us the spirit of fear! May this sermon be used of the Lord to bless you.
