The gospel is for everyone on earth. We must get it out. Vs3, Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!”
First, praise is reserved for God.
He alone gets praise and glory. He alone is the One who’s saved us. He’s responsible for our good works. Our perseverance is his handiwork, and he’s kept us from falling. There’s been nothing that we’ve contributed, and all the glory is his.
Bless the Lord. Do not praise your efforts. Thank God for your good works. Ephesians 2:10, “For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.” Thank him that you are faithful, and remember that he redeemed you 100% by grace. Give yourself no credit, and rely on Jesus Christ. Trust God the Holy Spirit!
Secondly, let everyone praise you.
Psalm 67:5 — “Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!”
Leave no one out. God’s whole church must rejoice. Soul’s he’s purchased must be set free.
Let us go into the world with one purpose in mind, which is God’s glory – living with power, so others can be saved. Psalm 67:1-2, “May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us,Selah that your way may be known upon earth, your saving power among all nations.” Let’s live our lives for others, and our joy will be full. 1 John 1:4, “We are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.”
Don’t be selfish, and live for yourself. Seek not your own greatness. Glorify the Lord.
Thirdly, everybody fear the Lord. Come to him with thanksgiving. Worship, because of what he’s done.
Psalm 67:7 — “God shall bless us; let all the ends of the earth fear him!”
Two things work in our heart simultaneously. We rejoice with trembling. Acts 9:31, “Meanwhile the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and was built up. Living in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.” We serve the Lord with fear, and comfort. Let nothing be lacking. Serve the Lord with joyful obedience.
We don’t laugh and play only. We also labor. 1 Thessalonians 1:3, “remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” We don’t only take the water of life, but we give it freely. We’re like the lepers who obtained mercy. 2 Kings 7:9, Then they said to one another, “What we are doing is wrong. This is a day of good news; if we are silent and wait until the morning light, we will be found guilty; therefore let us go and tell the king’s household.” We must help someone else.
Finally, praise is a happy life. Let us get Christ in, so we can get him out!
