“There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.”
The inheritance is bigger than we can imagine. We shall reign with God in Christ. We shall sit upon thrones, serving God in infinite pleasure. He’ll reveal who he is in his goodness, and we’ll purely worship him, while loving each other.
Heaven is a place of exquisite love. It is the place where God and people are one. Revelations 21:7, "The one overcoming will inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son."
Let us seek this place, and long for it. Do not forget your reward. Luke 22:29, "I bestow on you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one on Me." Don’t draw back for temporary pleasures.
Serve the Lord now, purely. Honor him sincerely. He will show us the riches of his kingdom, and bring us to Paradise. He will show why worshiping him is not only right but pleasurable. Submit to his word and learn.
First, “there shall be no night there.” There is no pain nor temptation. Sin has been destroyed. The last enemy, even death, is defeated! There’ll be no change to our eternal happiness nor fear of the light going out. There’ll be no sorrow, no tears, and no regrets. Revelation 21:4, "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will no longer exist; grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, because the previous things have passed away." There’ll be no looking over our shoulder, no backstabbing, and nothing but love.
Loving and being loved is what we’ll do, forever. There’ll be no envy and jealousy, no suffering, and no oppression. Never again will we weep in sorrow. There’ll be no fear!
Bless God and hallelujah! Heaven is coming. Prepare to meet your God.
Secondly, “the Lord gives them light.” He’ll show us who he is by first hand experience. Not only will we see him, but his grace will give us the highest pleasure of eternal happiness. We’ll understand why he’s worthy, and how the highest good is beholding his glory in sinless painless bodies. We’ll understand his great love, as it unfolds throughout eternity, while hell is burning hot! We’ll marvel in our election, how we deserve nothing, and how he died to give us everything. Oh, the wonders of Christ will be revealed to us. We’ll see perfect kindness and endless generosity. Our hearts will overflow continually. There’ll be no regret in serving this Great Being. He is worthy. He is worthy!
Thank God for this inheritance, and live in its light now. We are overcoming, and we are going to Paradise. Eternal pleasures are at God’s right hand, as we’re rewarded with Christ. Revelation 3:21, "To the one who conquers I will give a place with me on my throne, just as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne."
Thirdly, “they shall reign forever and ever.” This is our position. We aren’t lowly servants, but we are kings reigning in the heavens. Luke 22:29," I bestow on you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one on Me."
The bride is not home cooking while the husband enjoys the glory. No, we are one with him and at his side - joint heirs of the inheritance. We are in high position with dominion! Eternity will have other creations, but Christ is the highest, and he died for us to sit with him. Ephesians 2:6, "and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,"
These marvels are too much to perceive, but drink them in. You aren’t going to lowly happiness, but God’s glory elevated us with Christ, so that as he sees the Son, he also sees us in the highest position. We won’t be God, but we’ll be like him.
Get a view of heaven to strengthen you and encourage you. Drink deeply to excite hope. We murmur because we think we deserve better, but no one deserves what we are receiving. Hold on a little while in the hardship, and the time will come when it will be no more.
Finally, heaven is for all who trust Christ. Whoever believes will be in Paradise!
