I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. Psalm 145:1-4
Constrained by Love
“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead”(2 Cor. 5:14).
Why do you folks read the Bible, pray for one another, attend worship services and support the preaching of the gospel so faithfully and generously? Why do you help one another, comfort one another, and encourage one another? Why do you share your blessings, work at the church, seek the well-being and happiness of others, and invite others to your homes and tables? I CAN ANSWER FOR YOU! All believers in the Lord Jesus are under the SWEETEST and STRONGEST constraint to do what they do; they are motivated by the LOVE OF CHRIST; His love for them and their love for Him (1 John 4:19)! It is not fear of hell, desire for reward, nor concern for acceptance that excites us to duty, devotion, and works of faith, but Christ’s eternal love which led Him to redeem us by His life and death (Heb. 9:11-12).

“A Worm, And No Man” Psalm 22:6
Hanging upon the cursed tree as our Substitute, our Savior cried, “I am a worm, and no man.” Shall we for whom he suffered and died esteem ourselves higher than he esteemed himself? Yet, we act more like snakes than worms. Strike at a snake and he will lift his angry head, hiss at you, and strike back. Strike at a worm, and what does he do? Nothing! The worm is a humble creature, without any inclination or ability to defend itself or attack another. It is totally dependent upon its Creator. Its only defense is to retreat and take refuge. May God give us that spirit. It is the spirit of Christ. Let us, when attacked, retreat to and take refuge in him. He alone is our Rock, our Salvation, and our Defense. Pastor Don Fortner
HALLELUJAH! WHAT A SAVIOUR!
Believer, what a Saviour God has provided for His people (Gen. 22:8; Matt. 1:21)! The Almighty God (John 1:1), yet all tender Saviour and Good Shepherd who laid down His life for us (John 10:11; Psa.23:1). How well-fitted Jesus Christ is to be our Great High Priest (Heb. 2:17; 4:14-16). How sufficient is He to supply our every need according to His riches in glory (Col. 2:9-10; Phil. 4:19). How complete His wisdom and grace to provide for us perfect atonement and full justification from all our sin (Heb. 9:12; Rom. 3:24). How gracious the Lord is to impute His righteousness to us freely by His grace forever (Rom. 4:6; 2Cor. 5:21). He sets guilty, poor and lost sinners free by His almighty power and sovereign grace (Luke 4:18; Rom. 9:13-16). I say again, hallelujah what a Saviour we have in the Lord Jesus Christ (Rev. 7:9-10; 19:6).
IS THERE NOT A CAUSE?
“And David said, what have I now done? Is there not a cause?” (1 Samuel 17:29).
“Is there not a cause?”This was David’s response to his older brother Eliab’s false accusation against him of pride, irresponsibility of keeping their father’s sheep and naughtiness of heart (1 Sam. 17:28). David came to the battlefield that day being sent by his father, Jesse. He was sent with provision for the three brothers that had followed Saul to the battle against the Philistines (1 Sam. 17:17-18). David heard the ungodly rants and rages of the Philistine giant and the challenge that Goliath had issued to the armies of Israel (1 Sam. 17:8-10) and was concerned for the glory of God. “Is there not a cause?
Yes, there is a cause! God’s glory! When we hear the rants and rages of the religious ungodly against the gospel of Christ it stirs our hearts with zeal for His glory. How can we sit by idly and not pay any attention to what is being said today in most churches about the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is utter blasphemy against the God whom we love and the gospel we believe to hear some say, “Salvation rests upon the sinner and God has done all He can do, the rest is up to you!”
Is there not a cause in our day to take a strong stand for the cause of God and the gospel truth of redemption actually accomplished by Christ, not merely an attempt made (Heb. 9:11-12; 26; Heb. 10:17)?
Is there not a cause in our day to, “Earnestly contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints” and not to compromise to satisfy the feelings of some lost religious person(Jude 1:24)?
Is there not a cause in our day to boldly proclaim the unvarnished truth that salvation is of the Lord, not by the will of man (John 1: 11-12; Rom. 9:15-16; 2 Tim. 1:9)?
Is there not a cause in our day to proclaim the good news that the Lord Jesus Christ “Came to seek and to save the lost” that He came to save sinners and shall not fail (Isa. 42:1-4; 1 Tim. 1:12-15; Luke 19:10; John 10:27-30)?
Yes, my friend there is a cause (reason and purpose) that is greater than any of us! The Lord must and will have all the preeminence in salvation (Col. 1:18). The gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is all about Him and His glory (1 Cor. 1:30-31; Gal. 6:14).
