“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.”
Nobody ever said war was anything but hell. You have some soldiers that endure that hardness and others that fold like a cheap suit under the pressure. Endurance is a frame of mind, will, and emotion! Bringing these three, along with the body, into subjection to the Holy Spirit, we separate ourselves from the affairs of this world and we focus on the task at hand! That task is to please the One who chose and called us into the battle. I chose Him only because He first chose me. I love and serve Him because He first Loved and became a servant for me. It is an honor to be chosen to fight on the Lord’s side. An honor I say, because I know that I'm not worthy and that it was an act of Grace. I pray that He will enable me to fight a good fight! That when I lay this hoary head down for the last time, it will be with honor for my King!
(Psalms 144:1)
“Blessed be the Lord my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:”
